In the meantime, I’m learning to live with a level of clutter and disarray previously not part of my experience, and not so easy to be okay with. I think it was newspaper columnist Erma Bombeck who many years ago wrote, “My house is clean enough to be healthy and messy enough to be happy.” At the time, I thought it was cute. Now, not so much. Clearly, I have not yet managed to vanquish the beast of perfectionism, although I’m trying.
I'm learning more about my art, and from my art, every day. It's not so much a matter of skill or practice... mostly it's a shift in perspective, a way of shaping how I look at and exist in the world.
